Fair Housing Research Project: California and Beyond

Project Description

This project is a multifaceted evaluation of the California community planning process’s progress in furthering fair housing. Our objectives are to help communities advance the goals of racial equity and inclusion in the housing market, and to inform the renewed federal attention to fair housing. Our research agenda addresses four major factors that influence or relate to fair housing outcomes in California: the spatial distribution of low-income housing, the supply of homes in high-opportunity neighborhoods, ethnic and racial disparities in mortgage credit access, and changes in majority-Black neighborhoods over time.
